Rahm I think is still working his arse off but I think he was being honest a year ago when he said liv format is shite. I don’t think he likes liv at all and it seems to have made him miserable. The dude looks like his eyes are dead and staring into the abyss
I think Rahm is the one guy that has buyers' remorse for his decision. He's openly complained about the 54 hole format and has not played well in majors. Somehow i get the feeling that his move had a lot to do with either the wife or the agent insisting that he take the money.
I think he got talked into a bit by some of his pro athlete friends as well, like that meathead JJ Watt. "Take the bag now" is different in a sport where you get CTE and are lucky if you play 7 - 8 years and extremely lucky if you get a third contract; it's a bit different over a 20+ year career where the best (like Rahm, and he'll return to form eventually) earn generationally money both on and off the course and the majors are elevated more than ever, and Watt is a bit too thick to see three and four steps ahead.
He was the ultimate pawn in the PIF's game of chicken in the "keep playing games with us on the merger, and we'll keep doing this" to the Tour. Now that it appears the deal could be falling apart (again), it'll be interesting to see who they do after next who probably really doesn't want to go all that much.

Or Rahm was like "yea I'll take a hit to my image and rankings for a bit for half a billion dollars." John Rahm might not like playing on LIV as much as some of the other guys, but he 100% is not regretting his movie/if you gave him the chance to do it again he'd make a different choice.
Rahm was not going to earn anything even remotely close to that amount of money on Tour. The guy had 11 Tour wins and 2 majors and became the highest paid athlete in the entire world in 2023. The youngest athlete ever to earn over 500 million in their career. All because he was briefly the best golfer in the world. He would have been an absolute moron to not take that money.
