I just learned that hogging catfish is illegal in Missouri and really cannot understand why. If this law is ever enforced then half of the people in my home county will starve to death.

I never knew anyone that noodles in Missouri. My dad worked for the Foreat Service and I grew up on the rivers catching catfish but always trollies, jugs, or a rod/reel. My dad lives on the Lake of the Ozarks and when I go there and the Osage River, I've never seen anyone noodling.

I believe that here in Oklahoma, it's probably the most common place to do it, but it's still very few and far between.

I'm not really worried about people hogging catfish. Its people like Alxtiger hogging crappie with their military-grade sonar machines.

Missouri does a pretty good job of managing the resources. I have hogged for them in La. My problem is folks especially where I grew up in Louisiana would remove a boat load of big spawning females. Im glad it’s outlawed in Missouri .
