They dont support it. They just oppose you. No matter how bad it gets, they are trained to oppose you and your beliefs. If you say that taxes should go down, they will argue they should go up. If you say that closing the border is in our best interest as a country, they will argue for open borders.
It doesnt matter the message. They put themselves up as opposition to whatever the current thing is.
