My thought was always, if whitey was so bad weren’t we doing you a favor by keeping you away? And actually many people will tell you that segregation led to black entrepreneurs in Birmingham where they did not exist other places simply because they had to build their own enterprises instead of just patronizing established white businesses. All that being said, I have no problem with quality people regardless of their skin color. My neighbor is black OBGYN and they are the best neighbors we’ve ever had. We have Indians, Jews, Russians, Chinese, Lebonese, even a dwarf, all within a stones throw. Everyone gets along because we’ve all bought into and are living the American dream.
