Might have been a yellow jacket but they seem to have some green but I was running my arse off back to the house after going over a hole in the ground while cutting the coulee beyond my backyard a few years ago. It was dusk and as soon as it got dark I poured a gallon of gasoline on the hole and never saw them again. Had 3 or 4 bites that messed me up for a few days.

As a kid at about 5 years old I stepped in a tire in a weedy lot and got lit up by a dozen of yellow jackets and that is also seared into my mind as well them
