My mom called her grandparents something like "Muh-ma" and "Puh-pa."
But they were plain ol' SW La/SE Texan cajun, not the fancy going to college and studying French types.
I've heard her say "Ma-mere" or "Mem-ere" too; not sure who got which designations.
