I like how the announcers pretend the underhanded motion isn’t a natural throwing motion. They talk like LSU is trying to get skenes to toss 300 pitches in two days. She’s a college athlete and softball pitchers used to log insane hours in.

From my days pitching in fastpitch, it wasn't my arm that bothered me, it was legs... I lost that push off and the speed went down with it. I never threw real hard, but I threw a lot of spin. So as a coach, I always conditioned my pitchers and catchers more than everyone and more leg work in the weight room in the fall.

Debbie Gibson of La Tech threw every pitch except for 3 or 4 pitches one season. Double headers, didn't matter. Softball pitchers can throw every day
