I agree there should be consequences. But, getting a felony is still a big deal and life changer, if they are truly white collar. If they are a career criminal/thug, I agree, getting a felony is no big deal.

Big Dummy can’t get out of his own way.

It just baffles me how a successful professional athlete, who even won the highest trophy in the league, would ever consider doing something like this to earn pennies on the dollar to what $ he actually makes.
His earnings were about $34m. Take out about half for taxes. He probably had an entire circle of people he was trying to bring up who didn’t bring anything to the table. Not that difficult to blow through $17m when you haven’t played professionally in almost a decade.

$17 million is a lot of money unless you have zero idea what to do with it… can’t fix stupid.

And the fact that leaches exist only to help propel themselves up because they bring nothing. I’m sure he also said he was going to let mom retire, which is such a bad way to go about things.

Are you ok with someone stealing all the money in your 401K, spending it all, and then getting no consequences when caught because the money’s all gone?
This one’s tough, but I still don’t think incarceration is the answer. Usually these people are somewhat intelligent so making them work and garnishing the majority of their income makes sense.
What doesn’t is putting them in prison - all that does is cost everyone including the victims MORE in terms of tax dollars. Then they get out pissed off and become more of a violence risk.
Let them keep enough income to maintain their own living expenses while any extra goes to restitution.

And where were you on demanding Consequences for White Collar crime after the 2008 Crash, the ACA Medicare Fraud case, or a thousand other instances where Wall Street shite Bags walk Scot free?
Gen oughta be punished because he committed fraud, but don’t you dare scream equate this situation with there actually being consequences for white collar criminals!
The truth is: if one piece of shite like Madof or Jeff Skilling (Enron) were sentenced to 10-20 in Angola or Rikers Island, instead of probation or at worst, Club Fed, we would have an equitable criminal justice system!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Sorry, I over reacted. Yes, the guy got an appropriate sentence. Your comment about consequences for white collar crime just hit a nerve. My point was that we need to treat white collar crime with real, harsh consequences, just like other crime. In other words, the crimes committed by Madof or the Enron guys destroyed way more lives than I guy who holds up a liquor store, but we see more and more massive white collar crime, like the Stanford Ponzi scheme and the 2008 mortgage crisis because nobody gets a truly brutal sentence if anything at all. But, if you sentenced just a few Wall Street scum bags to 30 years in a real, “pound you in the arse” type prison, then other Wall Street scumbags might think twice before braking the law…
Again, I apologize, it was a long day…

In honor of Big Baby’s 40 months, I will drink a 40. Cheers Big Guy!

I think you'd have a different reply if someone robbed you.
Then 3 months later they robbed you again.

He will be alright. He's been in prison a couple of times on the TV Shows Shameless and Power

There are lots of big dudes in prison and not all of them think it's cute and quaint to be called "Big Baby".
