Security Camera Question

Some shady shite going down on my street and I need a camera that focuses on cars driving by. I am afraid battery/solar cameras wont have the juice because they are designed for a few minutes of video a day. Plus they have to activate on motion, and I am afraid it wont be quick enough to activate on a moving car (or am I wrong?).
If I go wired, I would prefer Wifi for data and wired just for power. I have outside outlets I can use for power, but don't want to go drilling my house to run ethernet cables. I would also like a camera with a battery backup if power does go out.
So what are the options? I don't need high-end 40x zoom that can read license plates. Just need something that allows me to kinda see what's going on and can make out a make/model of a car (especially at night).

I got one off Amazon that records 24/7. Came with a monitor with a built in hard drive and keeps about a months worth of recordings at all times, just keeps over writing the older recordings. ANd i have 7 cameras.
The cameras have wired power, but connect wirelessly to the monitor/hard drive.

Sounds like you just need to strap a trailcam to a tree on the curb!

ring camera with spotlights in place of any existing outdoor light fixtures work well. They pick up street traffic outside my house. I have flush mount lights on the front porch so that does not work there but we have used the battery powered ones there and on the back porch. They are rechargeable and I think last a couple of weeks or more. One of the front porch gets triggered more so the battery wears down. Stores video to the cloud and accessible from our phone for days. The Microphone pics up conversations effectively.

Go to smarthome.com. They have a good selection and you can talk to tech to help you decide.
