Looked like the hood. I'd bet most people are wary of opening the door and nothing prevents people with bad intentions from shouting "Sheriff!".

Can see why the guy had his gun as the cop stood to the side so he couldn't be seen through the peep hole.

Poor slob had his gun to protect himself opening the door to whoever was
out there and never threatened the cop with it at all. Gets blown away anyway.

frick that cop. Thinks he's Quick Draw McGraw or something.

I agree. This was my concern. It would be helpful for him to have a way to identify if it was a cop before answering.

I agree with the posters saying people should have the right to answer the door like he did. I just wouldn't want to do so if it's a verified cop.

Regardless the cop was way too quick to shoot him like that. I'm not here to fault the airman. I don't want anyone to think that. I just think you will always have some cops quick to react like this, so it might be ideal to verify before answering. Even if you have to talk to the officer through the door and ask him to better identify himself. I think that could be a safer situation for both. Then again someone could argue if it's not a cop maybe it's not good to try and have a verbal convo with them. I don't know, but this sucks and it's horrible.

Actually that complex is relatively new for FWB. Rent starts at about $1400 for 1BR.
