quote:so 4200 bucks over ten years? That’s 420 dollars a year. How many miles do you have on that ten year old vehicle? do you ever spend 400 bucks on a single elective expense in a given year?
last two times I’ve been in for our 10 yo Acadia it’s been $1700 and $2500.
I don’t think most people understand how miraculous it is that they can just hop in a complicated machine any time they want and transport themselves dozens or hundreds or miles away without any effort on their part

No. That was over the last 12 mo. As I said, the last two times I went in. And that’s only a fraction of what they wanted to do.
I’m not exactly sure what we’ve spent over last 10 year. But I’ve probably saved $4000-$5000 doing things myself. New coils, brakes annd rotors, oils changes, new throttle body.
I gave it to my son for his 16th birthday and bought a new truck.
I know my wife was nervous driving it long distance. No woman wants to be broke down on the interstate at night. Well no person wants that but it is especially terrifying for women.

I don’t disagree.
