You do get that if you're using synthetic you can change your oil less often, right? I would change mine in the garage with conventional for a few years, and I eventually realized that I'd save money by using synthetic and also having the benefit of changing it less often.

You also have the option (at least at Valvoline) of bringing your own jugs of oil, filter, etc., and essentially just paying labor and not having to deal with disposal (in TX, you have to write down your name and address in a log, for some reason, then go to the cage with the oil dump, etc.)

We had a place that did that as well but they quit....

I have been able to bring my own filter to Firestone but don't know of anyone allowing you to bring your own oil anymore....
