I bought a Weber kettle 12 years ago. I bought the display model for a discount because the lid had a ding. It saved me a few bucks and I didn't have to assemble it. I didn't strap it down and it blew out of the back of my truck on the way home. Suffered only superficial damage. Have used it weekly since then and still functions as well today as it did 12 years ago. I'd say they're pretty solidly made.

as a lazy college kid I transported one full of ashes in the back of my truck standing up. Tied the leg in. It had enough slack that it flipped over the side of my truck and dumped the grill the grate and the lid on the road. Freaking cloud of ash dust looked like the end of the world.

Everything bent to hell and still used it into my late 20s

Weber’s are awesome. I recently bought a PK, it doesn’t cook as well as the Weber but it is close. I just really wanted a more mobile grill for tailgates, ball parks etc
