someone brought up Julius peppers but he was a football player on scholarship to play football who decided to walk on to the basketball team, not really the same.
That's because if you're awarded a scholarship and play more than 1 sport, it's automatically counted as a FB scholarship. He was a highly-rated BBall recruit Calling him a "walk on" is the most bullshite of technicalities.

And this discussion is bigger than just TE/PF, it's just that if you're in the height/athleticism range for QB/RB/DB/WR, you're almost guaranteed to pick basketball.

quote:most running backs would be too short to play basketball, and 99% of basketball players would not be able to take the pounding a running back takes. If you are over 6’3 playing running back you better be fricking massive or else you’ll shatter you legs. I also would guess most basketball players that you think would be good DBs don’t have the hip flexibility and quickness to play The position. There’s no real size requirement for qb but it’s such a cerebral position you won’t find a single player ever being able to go from never playing a down of football through college to all of a sudden taking snaps under center in the nfl. So again, what we are left with is tight end and maybe receiver, but I think you’d be surprised at the speed of nfl players vs basketball players,or lack thereof. Again, you can’t name a guard in basketball who went to play football because they are normally too thin and would probably be too slow. which is why the only basketball position that has transferred to football is forward. but what austin rivers said is that there’s 30 guys in the nba that tomorrow could go play in the nfl which is ridiculous no matter how you slice it.
