Well that’s been the supporting argument for Rivers comments but it’s not a good one. He said just take 30 current players and the justification has been to use 3-4 examples throughout history consisting of non NBA players. To call that a stretch is more than generous.

A better statement of the argument is that the NBA has dozens (possibly hundreds) of people who could have theoretically played in the NFL.

The NFL has a much, much smaller population who could project as a candidate for the NBA.
