I get what you are saying but Mandeville isn’t Beverly Hills
I lived off HWY 1088 and had to drive to Royal in fricking Slidell to use a driving range. Can’t imagine a worse suburban region with year-round weather for public golf than the Covington/mandeville area - it’s truly pathetic.

Beau chene is just so damn affordable. If you are under 40 and play golf at all it makes more sense to join even if there was good public golf in the area

I live off 1088 now and can still get to Royal faster than I can BCCC most of the time. Its' further but takes less time normally.

Diamondhead, The Oaks and The Bridges are all less than 50 miles away which takes less than hour except on the weekend with the traffic heading to/from Gulf Coast beaches. There are some places where you can hit two 9i in any direction and land on a nice course but it's not uncommon in major cities to have to travel an hour to get to a nice course so while I don't like it we do have some alternatives.
