As long as he keeps doing the job he's doing in FL right now, he slides into the '28 nomination by default without the hassle that follows him if he were to become VP.
I like Ron and I hope he's a serious contender in '28, but I don't believe he should hinge his aspirations on being VP to secure the nom. He's likely got a better shot staying right where he's at and finishing the job he promised to finish.

Being VP would hurt more than it would help. From a purely political, strategic angle there's almost no upside.
