This would create more competitive districts. Doubt any sitting members would want that.
As far as minority districts, it may not guarantee 2 dem seats but it gives you a shot at winning more than 2.

That’s the thing. So many folks want to say it’s only Republicans supporting Gerrymandering in a red state like Louisiana; however, the Democrat Congressman(men) in power want it Gerrymanded as well, especially whomever is the sitting Congressman in the 2nd Congressional district.

Yep. But they will let the NAACP et all eat that bullet.
If that map goes to trial, it probably tosses race based gerrymandering at the Supreme Court level.
