In some cases yes.
Years ago I dated someone briefly, who owned an English bulldog and that was the grossest, slobbering, stinkiest thing (the dog- the dude was attractive and successful). Anyways, he let that nasty dog get all over his furniture.
Ultimately we just weren’t compatible so the dog wasn’t the deal breaker but I don’t know that I could ever live with or be married to someone who HAS to have an English bulldog.

I ask because I have the worlds cutest and most human like Yorkie and I’m not accepting casseroles from any woman who talks shite about her. I have a buddy - super in- demand guy- who won’t date any women who have dogs because they can’t leave on a moment’s notice. Whereas for me, it’s a huge plus. It probably demonstrates they are compassionate and kind as well. You can tell a lot about people by how they interact with animals.

I have a Dalmatian, goofy son of a bitch, sheds everywhere, long strands of drool will sometimes form when he watches me eat. He isn’t allowed on the furniture but you wouldn’t know it based on the hair. Takes me about 2 hours to get all the hair up
