re: What are women actually attracted to?

Aspy baby girl, now would be a good time to broach the "men can't communicate" issue. I think it's largely based in fact. But maybe women want to over communicate a little? To the point that a man feels like he's incidental, just a conduit for her to work out her emotions. He starts to feel like he's her therapist, and that what she truly means by "good communication" is someone who will silently endure her way-too-frequent manufactured indignations. I mean I can "communicate" all day long, but what I won't do is allow myself to be a prop to a woman's ever-changing mood. We can't sustain drama for drama's sake. That's for girls.
Which is why men consistently value a woman who is PEACEFUL and who values his masculine need for peace as much as she values her feminine need to emote. Men handle full frontal aggression well, but what we LOATHE is constant low-grade sniping. Or what a lot of women refer to as "communication" The data is clear on this too. Women who delve too far and too frequently into their own psyche, often can't escape it. And they make the men around them tense and miserable.

Women 30-55 are attracted to success
If I were to find myself single again at this point in my life- success- not necessarily wealth- but certainly fiscal responsibility for sure- would be a major consideration.
I’ve said it here before in another thread a while back, but I’ve worked my entire life, invested wisely, saved prudently and managed my money well.
I would not need a man to take care of me financially whatsoever and I wouldn’t be looking to foot the bill for some dude who hasn’t been as wise or made poorer choices.

Besides the women who prioritize the following "attraction facilitators" to great fault?
Money
Power
Status
Looks
Physicality
Even IF you have all of the above, would you actually want a woman for whom ONLY those echelon traits matter far more than anything?
The woman you'd be looking for should consider all/many of following trait, MORE than willing to trade off on the above:
Confidence
Generosity (reciprocation)
Self-respect
Sense of Humor
Responsibility
Purpose
Compassion / Empathy
Discipline
Faith in God
Rationality
Assertiveness
(Not necessary in order of trait value)
Confidence (as already highly rated by TD posters) is #1 or rated highly.
All of these traits play into what is a Charisma Factor that transcends the Money-Status-Power-Physicality-Looks.
There is of course a formulaic balance blended from all of the above that women will consider that factor in as "mate material". YOU must help create that blend to your own "uniquely valuable formula."

See, effective communication!

Quality personality characteristics- such as loyalty, honesty, transparency, trustworthiness are more important for the majority of the single mature women that I’m friends with.
The most common personality trait ‘turn offs’ I’ve heard discussed amongst the single older women I’m friends with include game playing, manipulation, ambivalence, general immaturity and emotional stuntedness.
Rarely are looks the make or break part of the dynamic with the ppl these women are interested in.
Interesting perspective.
May I ask the approximate age bracket of that consensus?
(I'm assuming 35+)

Actually he complains that I’m a terrible communicator.

Be what you want to be. Here is what we WANT you to be:
1. Calm. Peaceful. Stable. Agreeable Pleasant. Helpful.
2. Loyal and respectful. Exclusive to your man.
3. Sexually available. Initiate sex. Show him a certain sexual hunger.
4. Femininely submissive. Do the lady things so we can do the man things.
ANY woman who gives this to their man, will have little trouble keeping him. If his life is a battle of manufactured indignities and first-world outrages du jour, he will flee with the quickness of a cornered mongoose.
Oh snap. That will discombobulate and enrage em....

Like I said… the bar is on the ground as far as communication goes.
And I didn’t say men can’t communicate, I said a lot don’t. That’s a totally different thing (also, you see how I said a lot? It’s because I don’t throw all men in the same box. Sweeping generalizations get people nowhere).
But if you want to continue to not communicate, be my guest. It’s just not something I’m looking for. It may work out fine for you I. Your life.
Men start a thread about what women want. Women show up to tell men what they want. Men tell women why they are wrong. OT tale as old as time.

When I became a homeowner I grew very attracted to men who can fix things. Wound up marrying one of those.
Posted on 5/4/24 at 12:34 pm to Lsupimp
No, silly. That takes all the fun out of those threads for me.

My dumbass just learned how to fix things myself
I’m scared of electrical repairs, though. So I still have to pay for those.

Yikes. Are you ACTUALLY denying the highly emotional nature of women? If so, you'd be the first rational person to ever do so, man or woman.

I mean, you’ve got to have something there. And you have to be able to last beyond 2 pumps.
But there is such thing as too big.

I’m starting to think you use these threads like I do the ones I referenced earlier

I’m in that 35+ age bracket, but I agree with this statement being true for me from the time I started dating on. Some are just better at hiding it for longer than others

Yesterday one of the feral cats that hangs around my house attacked a squirrel and left it for dead.
Having someone to handle that for me was invaluable.
