I had a neighbor who used to be a bit of an a-hole to me. He would come out to his yard when I was outside tending to mine and complain and bitch about anything I was doing to improve my yard, the fence between our properties (Me: "uh, dude, it's inside YOUR property line and I see the runners and posts. You want to repair it? Then fricking repair it and leave me alone") The tree limbs hanging over his property, the boat I pulled to the house and legally parked it and washed it before loading for a road trip, on and on.

Then one day, he left the bitch he was married to. Over the next six months, I figured out that she was 'the woman behind the man'. She was awful, and upset my wife. I had to threaten her with legal action to leave my wife alone. She would lean her ladder up against the fence and yell at my wife. She would open her upstairs window and yell at both of us. In a fit of spite she had a tree guy come and cut back limbs that were 100+ years old to the fence line, some with a diameter of up to 18". She was a complete and total bitch.

About a year after her husband left, he came over to see his kids and I was in the front yard. He walked over and I expected him to complain about something. Instead, he apologized to me, said that he was an a-hole trying to do his wife's bidding to keep peace in their marriage and that he'd finally had enough and left. Said he was sorry he left me to have to deal with her and that the many times I'd offered to just have a beer and hang out and work together as neighbors, and that he rejected, he was really sorry that he didn't accept, but he couldn't because, for whatever reason, his wife can't get along with anyone and it cost him friendships and relationships with his extended family. He moved to the Fort Meyers area to get far away from her, and gave me his phone number. Told me that if she got totally out of control, first call the police and then call him, saying he could probably talk her down. He said she's also armed and it's best to not engage with her. Yikes.

So I understand how a woman can bend someone to her will in a very negative way, and maybe this guy, Fetterman, is able to finally speak his mind without that Marxist shrew in the background yanking his chain.
