Anyone too weak to stand up for their values within their church isn't much of a Christian to begin with.
It's called being tied to the whims of the congregation and money. Where I live in Texas, we took a vote, split off, and went Global. What was sad is the day of the vote is when so called members showed up in force. Never saw most of them except at Easter and Christmas. After the vote, they left. I figured good riddance, never saw them anyway or were they productive in the church. It's a little different in my home town. There are 2 Methodist churches very close to each other and pretty well both share the same Conservative beliefs. One took a vote and decided to become Independent. They just dropped the United name. From what I gather the y don't need help from the United brand. The other just decided not to vote and stay in the fold. There was obviously some member swapping but I promise you the only reason that church that didn't vote is staying afloat is the members are attached to the pastor and the church itself. The moment he retires, which could be soon, or someone urgently asks for a gay wedding and it happens, there will be a mass exodus. It is almost like don't ask nd don't tell and lets just keep everyone happy.

I’d rather worship at home or in a school cafeteria than show up every Sunday at a church im only attending because they couldn’t afford to walk away.
I have no issue with gay people. I love them and their situation is between them and God.
But until Jesus comes down and clarifies the Bible no one living openly in defiance of the New Testament should be on the pulpit.
