quote:And he also told the sinner on the cross today you shall be with me in paradise. Protestants still say you shouldn’t live in sin, but it does not say good deeds get you into heaven. Living a good life doesn’t get you into heaven. Only through christs salvation shall you enter into the kingdom of heaven
IMO you basically just describe the main fallacy within protestant religions. quote:Luther taught that salvation and, consequently, eternal life are not earned by good deeds; rather, they are received only as the free gift of God's grace through the believer's faith in Jesus Christ, who is the sole redeemer from sin So basically as long as protestants accept Jesus as their savior they will be saved despite their actions? Go read John 8.. Jesus tells us first not to judge others, but after he forgave the adulterous woman, he told her to "go and sin no more". It's pretty straight forward telling us that we are all sinners, but you do have to, at the very least, make an effort to not sin.

The repentant thief showed humility and remorse for his sins. It wasn't simply that the thief chose to "accept Jesus as his savior". He ASKS Jesus to save him.
quote:
but it does not say good deeds get you into heaven
If you're doing good deeds for the sake of eternal reward you're obviously missing the mark. But its also pretty clear Jesus wanted us to live a virtuous life. He teaches that by being virtuous we can better avoid sin. He also said in Luke 13 that we all must repent.

Protestants still say you shouldn’t live in sin
Some more so than others.

If we say we don't have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
