Your post goes to a point I made earlier. If LA’s districts were drawn on the basis of population and geography, with deferrence to existing political boundaries where possible and absolutely no consideration of demographics beyond pure numbers, we’d have two or three highly competitive districts. But we can’t have that, can we?
