Well they're doing things differently than the Proud Boys, who were counter-counter protestors, looking to fight leftist counter protesters making things violent.

The Proud Boys just march for a photo op and then leave, as far as I can tell.

Now, I used to fully believe this was some sort of a work (possibly not government-backed), but then I saw so many posters unironically support Andrew Tate, so anything is possible. One guy on the OT a few days ago was simping for Tate hard, talking about how Tate changed his life. If that idiot can get followers, then it normalizes outlier-weird stuff like Patriot Front a bit, at least in terms of possibilities that this isn't a work.
