Like a lot of words and terms that have lost their meaning, “conspiracy theory” has morphed into something completely different than its original definition.
There are actual conspiracy theories, and there stories painted as conspiracy theories to minimize their negative impact and marginalize critics.
Big difference.

The CIA published the document outlining how they helped coin the phrase “conspiracy theory” to discredit inquiries and stories that they viewed as negative.
I agree with the premise that it’s dangerous to blindly accept without facts that a non mainstream explanation is absolute fact.
It’s also 100% true that we are lied to daily by our government and the media for the benefit of others and have been for generations. This is all objectively proven based on their own later admission.
Why should anyone accept anything out of hand without hard objective evidence to support it in 2024? We are barraged by conflicting stories daily that most only parse as true or false based on their own subjective worldview and political leanings.
I mean just in the last 5 years we’ve been hit with some of the biggest lies in US history:
-Covid origins
-Russian collusion
-runaway inflation due to overprinting money
-nord pipeline attack origins
Those are four life altering events involving pestilence, politics, life altering wealth redistribution and war and we were outright lied to about all four by our government and media, yet I’m supposed to just sit back and accept whatever else they say without question or I’m a “conspiracy theorist”?
Anyone not questioning the world around them in 2024 lacks basic critical thinking skills or intelligence.
