Blackberry Smoke at L’Auberge

Who else went to the show last night? I am blown away! Not that crazy about the actual venue with chairs but everybody stood the entire time thank God. My first time seeing this band live and I have no idea how they never blew up to being bigger than they are!
Next on my list is Whiskey Myers.
By the way, why did they get rid of the outdoor stage there? I saw the Black Crowes some years back at L’Auberge and it was set up kind of like Voodoo Fest/Jazz Fest with a stage outdoors and all general admission. Was kind of thinking last night was gonna be similar.

Blackberry Smoke always puts on great show. They are a Great live Southern Rock nand.My wife and I were there. Charlie looked to be having a great time on stage last night. We were trying to find out any Info we could this morning on the poor individual who slipped and fell on the escalator after the show. Unfortunately his accident did not look so good.

Smoke are always down for a good live show. Headed to see them for 3 nights in Maryville in 3 weeks for the Brothers and Sisters Reunion.

Yeah- couldn’t tell if he slipped and fell or if someone else was involved. His face looked like he might have been hit, but also could have just hit the escalator on the way down. I wonder if he had a cardiac issue that caused it. I noticed they had the monitor hooked up. Hope he recovers.
As to the outdoor stage, they set it up depending on who is playing. Better Than Ezra plays every fall and they are on an outdoor stage. Have to remember the prime objective of L’auberge isn’t to put on a great concert. It’s to get people in their building so they will spend money gambling. The shows are just a way to do that.

Saw them in 2020 at Texas Club. Was blown away. Have been wanting to see them since.
For reference, I saw Midland the week before. Very meh. The first 5 seconds of Blackberry Smoke blew Midland away.
I put them up there with Whiskey Myers as far as live goes. Both put on great shows. No frills. Just great musicians playing great music.

I just got into checking Whiskey Myers out and I like! The thing I like about both bands is that you can’t call them rock or country. Kinda somewhere between the two.

Been a fan for a while, but was the first time seeing them. A really good show. I agree that the chairs setup wasn't the greatest, but we stood most of the show. I'm starting to like the casino shows as I get older.....they start promptly at 8, no opening act and usually done in an hour forty five.
As a previous poster mentioned.....unless you are following them on bands in town or some other app, it is easy to miss them right in your backyard. Very little promotion for these shows.

I have seen them 3 times and am going to see them play the Ryman in June. Really looking forward to that.

I’m right there with you. I can be home in bed just a little later than usual.

I don't know the last concert I went to. Must be at least 20 years. I think Jimmy Buffett in New Orleans the day before the Super Bowl when Montana and Rice beat the Broncos 55-10. Me and wife going to see Whiskey Myers at Red Rocks in June for anniversary. Looking forward to it.
