The laissez faire attitude by the ppl who aren’t French

Both are good. I live in both. MS has its own time and it’s slow. It’s a good refuge from the faster paced BR or NO.
LA is great for its people who have the best sense of humor and are very creative and fun to be around for the most part. Nobody or few take life too seriously. The food, drink, music and social opportunities are hard to beat. How many states have Mardi Gras parades and Balls? How many states have St. Patrick Day parades like ours. How many states have the variety of great foods we enjoy?
Now in MS time has stood still for about 50-60 years for the most part. People seem to get along well and are polite to each other. Blacks don’t seem to have a chip on their shoulders and white people are generally very nice to black people at least in the country. MS is the country for the most part.
So both LA and MS are good for me. I really can’t think of any places that I’ve ever preferred..

The main things I miss is the food and the friendly arse people. But I have been to so many better places since being displaced from hurricane Laura.

Hasn't been the same since before The War of Northern Aggression. Defending our way of life led to being a conquered land subjugated to foreign interests. The greatest river in the world and we are just vassals to a corrupt kingdom!

No.
Idiotic politicians. Entitled little shits who thinks they are owed something. People who annoy you.

It’s not the place; it’s the person.

It's bad if you are relying on government to address issues and develop the state to attract companies/provide a better lifestyle. It is great because there is much less competition and you can do very well compared to peers. If you had a good upbringing and a decent education you can go high places, and people with that background seek out people with a similar background in business.
My AC guy owns his own company. He was middle class and now is rich. He does great work, but more importantly he is forward thinking, treats his employees well, and heavily caters to the customer. He has a great reputation. A lot of trades in this state don't have that mindset. If someone in a trade knows how do his trade well, and also run the business well, it's like having gold.
A lot of the successful people here all own their own small business. You don't have corporate people here for the most part.
My family is doing great, my HS and college friends all live comfortable lives, and many have a luxurious lifestyle.
It is also great because the progressives/activists don't want to move to a state that is at the bottom with education, and just at the bottom of everything in general. They cringe when they enter a cafe and see F250's in the parking lot and baws having breakfast before they turn to for the workday. That is why they concentrate in areas of NOLA and have their refuge. I don't live there so its not a problem for me. I visit, enjoy its charm, and then retreat to home base.
You have to pay for a better education, but as a republican I think that being able to make your own choices outweighs having the government/authority take care of everything for you.

THIS 100%
I poached someone who only lived in Los Angeles. He absolutely loves it here and says his life is much better. He enjoys it so much.
