No one thinks he is an idiot. My question from the beginning was simply wondering what Jay saw or didn’t see in the offseason that made Larson 5th off the bench even behind a catcher.
If Neal never steps foot in the outfield then it’s easy to explain that Brown had a good fall and Pearson and Frey have seniority…
But putting Neal in RF seemed like a last ditch effort to throw shite at the wall and hope something sticks.

It’s always a simple answer to these questions, He wasn’t performing in practice until something starting clicking and then he took off in games. Every coach deals with these situations. Jay gave ample opportunity to others who were producing in the fall and early spring and it didn’t translate to the games. Larson struggled at first but finally adapted to SEC caliber ball and here we are. Not much more too it than that.
