Understanding that their are political lobbies amongst various groups that or either for or against the use of Hemp and Marijuana and affect legislative voting, I purely speak from a tax perspective. One of the hardest components of marijuana/THC/Hemp laws is how the government/Dept of Revenue or Taxation can tax the product while not imposing to high of a tax burden (ie price point) to keep users away from the illicit market. Currently states are facing the issue of hemp products impacting the taxation of marijuana. If THC Hemp products are not available in Louisiana, then the path of taxation for recreational marijuana in Louisiana is easier.
