These aren’t AP tests. They’re basic standards tests.
Artists, entrepreneurs, athletes, and musicians are all better off knowing basic standards in all of these subjects. This is the principal covering his arse for running a shitty school who also isn’t allowed to just blame the parents.
“Don’t worry parents, we failed these kids together” is the wrong message.
He should be saying “if your kids can’t pass these tests, here’s our plan to get them up to speed to where they should be and we need your help.”

This is kinda where I am. I get it in asking parents not to freak out over a bad score but, you have to have some way of evaluating a students progress and I don't know how you do that without testing.
