90-88 Pels lead with 3:34 left in the game and the Pels scored to make it 93-92 with about 25 seconds left in the game. Fouled Chet with 14 seconds left on the clock. So they went 3 minutes and 9 seconds without a point to close the game with a chance to extend their lead on possession after possession.

I mean if you really want to get into the meta of it all, there is really no point to any of this, even if Zion was playing. At the end of the day, it's a bunch of athletic rich dudes playing kids games.
Lol ok man- thats not what I meant.
I meant in terms of making this team better for the future or towards helping it become a contender.

Yep and OKC went like 6 minutes without a FG.
That was a really bad basketball game tonight.

Do this.
Trey is nearly 7 feet tall.
Go look at where he stood.
If he laid down with his feet in that spot, his head would be right around half court.
47 minus 7 ish, is around 40 feet.
Again, please go look where he was standing, and come back and tell me there was 17 feet between his feet and half court. You'll quickly realize you're just wrong here.

You see how much we did with 14 seconds? Sorry, but an extra 5-10 seconds is huge in that situation
Lol, that’s more of a statement against the offense than not being enough time. If we had 5-10 seconds more than we would have just delayed what we already ended doing. There’s games that change leads 3 or 4 times in 14 secs.

I like my fair share of discussions but you guys are literally arguing the distance of how far Trey was. This one is a little ridiculous even for me lol

We also should have fouled earlier to leave more than 14 seconds to get a good shot.
14 seconds is plenty of time. We purposely wasted 4 seconds doing nothing, so the lack of time was a function of execution, not a true lack of time to make a play.

Well there is an NBA statistic for point guard efficiency and you don’t see a Pel on the list until #39 with Jose. We are beneath the bottom of all other teams so having a guard who is efficient with the ball in their hands seems like a priority.

Fairly certain you've argued many things just as ridiculous lol.
2nd, it was clearly 40 feet. It shouldn't be an argument, not sure why anyone would disagree with me, I am correct here very obviously.

I don't know, getting Trey and Herb more battletested I guess.
But again, I also don't think we'll ever be a contender with Griff running the show. Zion is more than likely going to be on his 4th different head coach in 6 years and I'd bet isn't re-signing with us once his contract is up.
This team won't ever make a finals with Zion. We've had to hit the reset button too many times, partially due to bad luck with his injuries, partially due to him being a tad immature and partially due to us not putting a team or coaching staff around him that allows him to flourish. Unfortunately we saw this same thing play out with AD and history is repeating itself.

Probably but this one is a bit much lol
I mean in the end that shite at the end is on Willie. Plain and simple. Its a weakness in his coaching and why we suck in the clutch. I mean we could argue details about time or distance. But Willie basically sent CJ out there to go 1on1.

Had CJ protected the ball a bit rather than dribbling wildly to try to cross over the defender, and not had the ball poked out, 14 seconds was more than enough time. He still had a decent look after getting the ball poked out, he just made the wrong decision.

God damn man this makes me even more depressed as a pels fan but honestly you’re probably right. Oh well bring on Game 2 because I’m a glutton for punishment.

You guys are really nitpicking. CJ was meant to be the third guy not the go to closer. Its really difficult to get a good shot with a quality defender without your coach drawing up a play. Im not criticizing CJ on this possession- he did the best he could.

Zion's injuries is the big reason why this will likely go down as a wasted era, but you could make an argument it all began when Griff outsmarted himself in the 2019 draft and turning the 4th pick (Garland) into Hayes and NAW. That and Zion barely playing as a rookie with a lame duck coach in Uncle Al.
Also, while the return we got on AD wasn't terrible, imagine how much better it could've been if there was a true open market for him and not Klutch forcing him to LA. Maybe it wouldn't have mattered though because Griff basically wasted the warchest.

100% correct on all points. Trading the 4th overall pick was incredibly stupid at the time and looks even worse now. He played it like this was the NFL Draft or something, it rarely makes sense to trade down in a draft when you hold a top 5 pick. Awful awful decision. He did nail it in the next draft with TM3 and Herb which helps lessen the sting but still. Jury is still out on Dyson and Hawkins but yeah, why the hell did he retain Gentry? That made no sense at the time as well. This franchise is such a mess despite having a pretty damn talented roster.

Talented yes but there are some serious fit issues on this roster. We don’t really have a starting point guard or center on this roster. Our two biggest stars are injury prone, and dont fit together. OKC was behind us in the rebuild now look where they are. If I was Griff I would be embarrassed that Presti that quickly built that team up.

Pretty much every NBA draft is top heavy, so he basically traded the 4th pick for the 8th pick (which he completely whiffed on based on the players that were drafted immediately after Jax) and a glorified 2nd round pick at 17.
Easy for me to say this now in hindsight, but trust me, I said that was a mistake the second that trade was announced.
