I sincerely apologize for not listing out every one of these players exact measurements

But its just weird to me you'r enot calling Simon a "gadget back" but Berry and Lindsey are despite the fact they are listed within <15lbs of each other and basically within a half inch of height of one another. Just doesnt make any sense at all, and it really doesnt make any sense to classify 200lb guys as gadget backs in college/nfl etc

None of the 3 LA guys are gadget backs and can all carry a load. Not that loads are even really asked to be carried much any more. This isn't 2003, its modern CFB where vast majority of teams spread carries around and dont really ride 1 guy for 25 carries a game anymore. Fresh legs are a big deal in today's CFB and QBs in alot of instances have also taken a good bit of the running load as well. No 1 back inthe country averaged over 23 carries a game last season and only 7 guys in the country total had 20-23 carries a game.

The "Bell cow"/"gadget back" stuff is so old school nowadays

Well, 15lbs is a lot. And certainly if a “speed” back were to gain 15lbs, they would lose some of what defined them.

Simon runs differently than the other guys, and is noticeably thicker. Would you disagree that they all do not have similar running styles? I’m not sure why you are so insulted & triggered by the gadget moniker lol.

It’s certainly more common but I would not say the “vast majority” prefer to use multiple backs. Most teams will by default will have a primary guy & a backup that will get run. The % split depends on the team. And it has been that way for awhile.

Looking at Harlem Berry, it will be a disservice to him to have a joe McKnight type career when he could potentially be a Malik nabers or morris Claiborne at another position. He wants to be a RB I’m sure, and you suit him. But getting 12 carries a game out of him is not getting a full bag.

Im ranting now, but the bottom line is James Simon offers you a pretty clear feature type back. “We have talented guys already” is fine, but you need a mix & you need a centerpiece & he is that. Then you funnel the other guys off of him.
