Tariffs are great if the country you are placing the tariff on taxes imports. Personally I think that the US government should do what Tom Clancy does in one of his books. Pass the Trade Reform Act from Debt of Honor which makes US laws and practices on imports of a country mirror the laws and practices of that country. That way trade is fair. I would prefer free & fair trade but I will gladly take take fair trade with extra costs instead of free trade and American industry and workers getting f**ked over without lube.

But see, here in the United States we like to dictate what other countries do without holding ourselves to the same standard of conduct.
