My understanding is that he clearly committed a misdemeanor by falsifying business records to hide his pay-off to a porn star to hide his affair during an election, but linking it to election fraud as a felony is where some legal scholars think it could be tricky.

Others think it's a slam dunk and Trump's only hope of not being a felon in a few weeks is a lucky juror.

So in other words it is no different then paying a foreign agent for a fake dossier that implies a political opponent was under the influence of Russia and then declaring that expense as legal fees?
