I understand what Griff has tried to do. He knows that players don't want to play in New Orleans, especially not stars.

He's tried to field a top to bottom very good team, built on really solid guys that are content being here, that aren't malcontents, etc

The problem is that the NBA is a star league, and if you don't have a transcendent guy (or 3), you aren't going to win shite.

He thought Zion falling into his lap would be it, and he isn't.

Agreed. Zion has been good when he's played but he hasnt been great. We dont have a superstar on this team. I know people were praising Zion for putting up 25/5/5 his last 5 games but like that isnt as impressive as it used to be. Lebron just put up 26/7/8 in his age 39 season. The difference between Zion even at his best and true top guys in the league like luka, Jokic, embiid is so massive.

I think the Donnovan Mitchell saga this offseason is going to make us realize our place/ceiling pretty quickly.

Unless we can get a major foreign superstar, it will combust.
