Id be perfectly fine with all benefits ending and switching to a flat tax.

Not even close to the same thing.
If There was a law that let certain people, mainly high earners have their mortgage paid off by Government, you would have a point.

That's a double taxation item, and in no way shape or form is similar to public loan forgivess programs
