I think the defense looks way better. I think Nuss is that good

Nuss is going to surprise a lot of people this year. He has the talent to take us very far.

Keeping Collins on field again with 2nd team offense
Giving him every chance to earn the backup role

It will be better. But currently we have some backups that may need to be really in the mix.
Weeks, mcbryde, Kylin Jackson. Maybe toviano at safety

Someone pointed out earlier in another thread that the Defenses has several new players or guys playing a different position and are learning a new scheme while the offense is returning more guys who played last season and they have been in the same offense for the last 3 seasons.
Missed tackles are a player issue but busted coverages may be more attributable to bad communication/understanding of where they are supposed to be.

Reliford looks like a beast

I think a lot of this is our offense is just elite
The players are out of position, they're not just being beat by elite play or creative playcalling.

It's nice to see more press man with the corners even if there are plays sprinkled in with more cushion. Definitely feel better about our defense even with who we have without the transfers.

Nuss with 3 drives and 3 td’s against 1st team D
No td drives for Collins or Swann so far
Halftime

I agree. I like what I see better than what we saw last season.

I just realized that the kicker for that FG is the son of former LSU kicker John Corbello.

Nuss and Lacy look spectacular, but who’s really shocked

If even the seniors are going to have miscommunication I don’t see why you continue play them. It’s time to ditch the 5’10” 185 safeties and throw out the 6’2” 205 dawgs like Mcbryde and Jackson. Let them fly around and make plays.

Looks like Nuss done for day
