The thread is about "condo rental rates" not overall cost. Does it cost more, sure. Doe you get more, absolutely but there is not much disparity in condo rates.

maybe not in condo cost, but everything else is way way more

i was on maui and yea it was $10+. the locals will tell you its one of the more expensive items compared to the mainland due to import cost.
