Just like SSRI’s it was never meant to be a long term solution to obesity, but we all know in the good ole USA that the overwhelming majority of people taking this will abuse the frick out of it and have no intentions of ever getting off their wonder drug.

Just like SSRI’s, this breeds zero accountability for one to change their lifestyle as it’s a band-aid on the root of the problem.

This is the problem:
-extremely poor diet for a long period of time
-sugar addiction because of it
-lack of understanding of what a good diet is
-zero discipline, accountability, and self love to to fix the “eating for comfort” syndrome we have in this country
-zero will to be active and work on physical fitness

A pill will not fix any of this.

I understand the idea for someone that is absolutely morbidly obese and doesn’t want to cut half of their stomach out, this can jumpstart a success story, but they didn’t get to that position in life because of victimization, they got there because of poor decision making over a long period of time.

This pill and the mindset of the person that would take this is breeding WEAK people, which is why we are in this position to begin with. We are a society of weak minded fat-asses that lack accountability.

How will a pill change mindset? Changing mindset comes from deep within.

That's a large portion of the US and most of LA..

From the people I know that have lost weight on one of these newer injections, their mindset has changed once they dropped the weight.. They eat better and less often, started an exercise program. etc.. Maybe because they never want to go back to being overweight? Maybe a commitment to themselves? IDK.. I'm all for it as a booster to better your lifestyle. I mean, who wouldn't be for that?

ETA- I also agree with everything you said... It's hard to change the mindset of living to eat to eating to live.

Ever heard of "food noise"???

It's the constant thought of eating, constantly thinking of food no matter how hard you try not too.

These meds help to reduce that "food noise" which in turn helps change mindset.

I've noticed it myself. Been on Mounjaro for my type 2 diabetes for 6 months, have lost 40 lbs and A1C down to 5.8 from 8.4.

A buddy of mine made me realize something. He and his wife are also on them, he asked if I ever lose track of time now, and I said yes. He mentioned he noticed himself lose track of time mist days because before his mind was constantly thinking about when it was time toear, his schedule revolved around meals. Sonce being on the meds he doesnt think of food constantly and loses track of time because his life isnt a slave to meal time.
