He's had enough time to recruit HS and portal players to make this run. If there are deficiencies on either side of the ball, it's on him.
Ed O and Les both won championships in year 3 (and admittedly had somewhat better circumstances when taking over) after strong recruiting to get the players that cemented those seasons.
If BK is better than either of those 2, you have to have higher expectations for him. You can't say the other two were garbage then not hold a better coach to a different standard, the pay reflects this as well.

Don't you feel like that is a bit of understatement?
Les walked into a goldmine, and O walked into a good situation where if he just changed the offense from dinosaur football, they were instantly better.
BK walked into an absolute disaster.
