People say this, and I'd only agree if you sit underneath his roost in the dark.

If you can somehow manage to get within shotgun range of a turkey in daylight in a tree, then got damn I'll allow it. That's impressive imo.

My grandfather was hunting 15 years or so ago and had one go quiet on him. He stood up after 30 mins or so, and the tom was right there. He said it flew up into the tree not more than 20 yards from him. Blasted it.

I really don't have an issue with that either, dumb arse bird can't just call the tree a free pass zone.

Last year I was working a bird and stuck in a spot. Then another Tom flew up in a tree 55 yards from me. Directly across from me. He basically trapped me in this spot as the original turkey left. I had a 20ga that day and attempted to shoot him off the limb after an hour. Wasn’t successful.
