Please…Larry was a 3 time member of nba all defense second team. Criminally underrated as a team defender. The defensive schemes in today’s game that you tout so frequently cater to a player like Larry.
Granted injuries robbed him of a lot later in his career…..I’m talking prime Larry.
The fact he torched the league offensively with the back issues…..it’s really incredible….albeit a total diff conversation.

In a different era with bad offensive coaching.
NBA coaches didn't start to isolate bad individual defenders en masse until the 2002 FIBA embarrassment when DPOY Ben Wallace was iso'd and exposed.

Again, he'd be isolated and couldn't hide behind "team defense". I'm not saying he is the worst defender ever or anything, but it's a different game today in terms of offensive systems and skill level. He'd play because of his shooting, but he'd have to bump up to the 4 or 5.
