Sadly, you are not.

I have heard that area around Graceland is better.
It is.
Memphis is safe so long as you know where and where not to go. I live out in Germantown, and take Sam Cooper to Parkway to Danny Thomas to work... and back home. Do not stop. At night and on weekends we stick strictly to extreme East Memphis/Germantown/Collierville/Arlington/Piperton etc; or venture down to Southaven/Olive Branch/Hernando.
Except of the Grizzlies/Tigers games... and those are safe as well.
Murder rate is high... but look who is killing whom. It's not like random whites are being gunned down in East Memphis. Although that has happened as well, but it is generally... gang members killing other gang members. And quite frankly, the more of them dead, the better. They can all kill each other as far as I'm concerned.

Collierville
I went up last August for BBQ, and stayed by Wyndyke. I hadn't been there since spring of '00. Was amazed how much Collierville had grown. Especially from when I moved there in the late 80's.

Is that a joke? Liza Fletcher and Glenn Cofield?
