"Mostly" was the correct answer.

DeSantis disregarded the 1st Amendment when he used the power of government to exact recrimination on Disney for criticizing his bill.

He also (reportedly) ordered law enforcement to shut down at least one drag show that did not violate the law simply because one was taking place.

Finally, he tried to pass a bill banning private social media companies from de-platforming POTUS candidates.

Those are not conservative actions. They are authoritarian populist actions.

He's also more recently become unwilling to admit we're going to have to reform SS/Medicare.

He supported banning offshore drilling and fracking in Florida.

A lot of that I can somewhat forgive because the Republican base has become so populist that he obviously felt that he had to go in that direction some just to ever have a chance. That old, "You get the candidate you deserve."
