Was an elite Duke team. UCONN that year was better. Wasn't luck they beat that Duke team. Was the clash everyone wanted from about midpoint of the season. Rip Hamilton, El-Amin, Voskhul, defensive wizard Ricky Moore and a slew of athletic wings/big guys that gave good minutes. Duke more talented, UCONN the better team.
Calhouns recipe of dominant lead guards, athletic shooting wings and a bunch of bigs that rebound and intimidate around the goal still works. Biggest difference is that the bigs can shoot now.

IIRC UConn was undefeated until late in the season and only lost 1 game that year. I think duke was more talented overall, but that was a great championship game.
