I've looked into it. Basically if you can prove they came from Italy and no one in the chain down to you "renounced" their Italian citizenship, you can qualify. What paperwork are they having you do? From what I saw, it's kind of involved to get all the correct documentation

I found someone who is going to pull all the records I need and get the apostille docs to apply. About $2,500. Then just need to get an appointment at an Italian consulate.

In my case my GGF came here and was a farmer in Tangipahoa. He and his wife always wrote AL (alien) on the census records so they never renounced
