Cleveland, a team that would win 93 games, dealt him in 2019 for a washed up Yasiel Puig. He was their #2 starter behind Beiber. Why would a team deal that level of player except that he was an absolute pain in the arse in the clubhouse and it was starting to take its toll?

And the Dodgers are still paying him to stay the hell away.

In Cleveland he was unavailable for much of the playoffs in 2016 due to a drone accident. Tribe lost to Cubs in 7 games in WS and could have definitely used a healthy Bauer. Then later he got frustrated over getting yanked in a loss to KC and threw a ball from pitchers mound over the CF wall…Tito Francona walks to the the mound and you could clearly see him saying “WTF is wrong with you?”). Who know if he was a clubhouse cancer but they were clearly done with his antics…or at least the positive didn’t outweigh the negative.

And players such as Mookie Betts have come out saying how they have no issues with Bauer and he was a good teammate.

well, bc Mr Bauer was approaching his final year of arbitration, which would have resulted in a $20MM salary. moreover, he was unwilling to sign a long term contract with the Indians and would have most assuredly bolted as a Free Agent following the 2020 season.
