Anyone still watching this? McGregor is excellent but the material is so depressing that I’m having to slog through this.

I watched the first three... then just kind of forgot about it. McGregor was excellent... he always is... but that's about it.

It started out alright, but then got a little redundant. The casting kinda took me out of it since it's 20s , 30s Russia. There was so much story to be told in that time period, but I felt that each episode was a repeat of the last one in a way. The time jumps and the hotel aspect was engaging initially. It's been awhile since I read the book and frankly don't remember it that well.

Keep going. Episodes 4 and 5 with Sophia are great. I think it gets better as it goes along.
