It’s more likely he drowned from exhaustion. Sharks don’t view humans as prey.

I saw the fin in the video. And the tip of the sharks right flipper fin deal. I saw a tooth. Maybe three teeth. It was hard to tell in the slown down, blown up, nighttime, potato vision video I saw, but it was undoubtedly 100% a shark that got him.

It’s highly unlikely that sharks ate him. Stop watching Jaws. Sharks do NOT view humans as desirable prey.

Here’s the likely outcome that happened: Robbins jumped off the ship, kid throws a buoy towards him but he doesn’t go towards it because he sees something next to it. A minute later, the cruise ship is already hundreds of yards from Robbins. He treads as long as he can and screams at the top of his lungs for several more minutes until he gives up from exhaustion and drowns. That is 99% what probably happened

A shark may not have eaten him but something bit down on your hook hard enough to bend it. Remember TD has strict catch and release rules.
